Go to the Eli Whitney Museum and see classic toy trains produced by New Haven’s A.C. Gilbert Company that still run beautifully after 60 years (exhibit will run through January 10). Right after World War II, the A. C. Gilbert Company introduced its American Flyer Trains. Gilbert trains are known for their lively movements, carefully crafted sound, bright lights and the cedar scent of their smoke. These trains are only unpacked and displayed only once a year.
Open Saturday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Sunday noon – 5 p.m.
