Chester Winter Carnivale

Chester's 19th Annual Winter Carnivale on Sun., Feb. 15 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. The Carnivale kicks off Feb. 14 with Samba Rio, a festive dance and fundraiser. Then, on the 15th, head down to the Chester Hose Company Fire House at 6 High St. at 11 a.m. for the Chilly Chili Cook-off, a friendly competition between local fire companies, restaurants and local participants. Taste a range of unique chili recipes and vote for your favorite. Admission costs $4 at the door.

The ice carving competition is from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot behind 4 Water St., with judging at 3 p.m. Spectators can vote for the "People's Choice Award." The fun continues with a tractor parade, street performers and gallery openings, meaning lots to see, do and eat all day long. Free parking is available at the Maple Street and Water Street Lots.


Dress for the weather, as all events take place outdoors.
